About

  • Resilient Ornament, opening on Friday May 29, 2026 presents the work of Amanda Lydért and Frederik Nystrup-Larsen. Conceived during their residency at Studio Lazcano in San Ángel, the works arise from an attentive observation of Mexico City’s flora, particularly the flowers that surround the space itself. Resilient Ornament emerges from this tension between memory and oblivion, between what appears merely ornamental and what silently endures within the city and our awareness.

Alongside the exhibition, the gallery will inaugurate its Summer Exhibition, a collective presentation installed throughout the main galleries and conceived in reference to the historic format of The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, bringing together works by the gallery's represented artists in a salon-style display.

We invite you also to visit The Listening Room; a light installation by Brian Eno, accompanied by an ambient composition by the artist and installed through a Margules sound system. Drawn from a private collection, the work proposes an immersive environment centered on Eno's explorations of light, time, and sound.

    More about the gallery
Georgina Pounds opened Georgina Pounds Gallery in February 2026 with Vanessa Raw’s first solo exhibition in Latin America, following her exhibition at the Rubell Museum. The gallery focuses on female artists, spanning from the Mexican Surrealists of the 1940s to contemporary practitioners today, with a particular emphasis on works exploring unreal light, symbolism, and a dialogue with the romantic architecture of the gallery itself.

In 2025, Georgina Pounds also opened Studio Lazcano as both her private home and artist residency in Mexico City, conceived as a space where art, architecture, and daily life intersect.

The gallery currently represents artists including Valentina Attolini, Sofía Bassi, Leonora Carrington, Mónica Figueroa, Kati Horna, María Kalach, Jessica Luostarinen, Talia Maidenberg, Frederik Nystrup-Larsen, Tori Pounds, Florence Reekie and Kitty Rice.

Exhibitions to date have included presentations by Brian Eno, Vanessa Raw, Frederik Nystrup-Larsen and Sofía Bassi, alongside group exhibitions featuring works by Bridget Tichenor, Gunther Gerzso, Alice Rahon, Renée Abaroa, Caroline Absher, Layla Andrews, Lynn Chadwick, Mathias Goeritz, Sally Gordon, Grace Hartigan, María José Lavín, Tali Lennox, Amedeo Modigliani, Henry Moore, Roosmarijn Pallandt, Pancha Rodillo and Remedios Varo.
