ZⓈONAMACO 2026 : Carl Freedman Gallery & Georgina Pounds Gallery

From February 4-10, Georgina Pounds Gallery participates in ZⓈONAMACO 2026 to launch the gallery with a joint booth alongside Carl Freedman Gallery, Margate UK. The presentation includes paintings by Vanessa Raw, shown in dialogue with her solo exhibition at the gallery, alongside painting and sculpture by a selection of artists that explore themes of embodiment and spirit within imagined landscapes. 

 

Caroline Absher, refers to this concept by presenting the idea of the silver cord - the mythical link between body and soul. Her paintings, scaled like doorframes, incorporate faint figural outlines that help steady the mind’s turbulence, inviting close looking and revealing a tension between abstraction and emerging form. Sofia Bassi, Monica Figueroa and Maria Kalach also work with figures shaped by memory, while Vanessa Raw and Frederik Nystrup-Larsen imagine nature through blossoming flowers and inviting landscapes, reminding us of the jacaranda trees in the Mexican spring.
